What is a side? No anal sex

Sides are men who don’t enjoy the feeling of something entering their ass, and who are not interested in sticking their penis or anything else in another person’s ass.

The dating app Grindr allows you to specify that you are a side looking for other sides. To do this, select the option ‘Side’ in the field ‘Position’.

What is sex like as a side?

You can have very enjoyable sex without anything going in your ass! For example:

• Frottage: this means rubbing your penis against your partner’s. You can do this while standing up or lying on top of each other.
• Jerking off together. Frottage and jerking off can easily be combined. Push your penises together and hold both firmly with 1 or 2 hands. By moving your hand(s) up and down, you will stimulate yourself and your partner.

• Sex between the legs:  You can also insert your penis between your partner’s legs instead of in their ass. Or between their feet, or buttocks. 
• Massaging each other
• Sex toys: there are many different kinds of sex toys in which you can insert your penis. With them, masturbating feels different than when you use your hands.

Can you get an STD if you’re only a side?

Without anal sex, chances of HIV are very low. But you can still get STDs. That’s why you should get an STD test twice a year.
