Is the result of your STD test available via Testlab? With your personal code and password you can find out if you have an STD.

When can you get tested for STDs through Testlab?

If you’re a man and you have sex with men, you can get tested for STDs through Testlab. With an STD test you will know if you have an STD or not. Do you have an STD? If so, you will go to the GGD for treatment.

When can you not get tested for STDs through Testlab?

Do not get tested for STDs through Testlab:

  • If you have symptoms that can be caused by an STD
  • If you had sex with someone who has an STD

In these cases, make an appointment with your GP or the GGD in your area. If you go there, the doctor or nurse might give you medication against the STD right away.

Why get tested for STDs through Testlab?

An STD test with Testlab has lots of advantages:

  • You can get tested for STDs for free twice a year
  • It’s confidential. Your GP will not be informed
  • Testlab locations are often closer by than the GGD’s STD clinic
  • Testlab can usually help you faster than the STD clinic

Where can you get tested for STDs through Testlab?

Find a Testlab location in your area. Check the opening times for STD testing at each location.

No Testlab in your area?

Is there no Testlab location close to your home? Then make an appointment for an STD test with your GP. Or at a GGD in your area.

How does Testlab work?

You can arrange an STD test through Testlab yourself. This is how it works:

  1. Request an STD test online:  
    - Create an account at mantotmantestlab.nl. Use this account for all your testing requests
    - Answer the questionnaire. This way you will find out if you can get tested for STDs via Testlab. 
    - You get a request form with a code. You will need this code later, to view your results. Email this to yourself and store it in your computer or phone. Print it out. And take it to the location on the day of the test.
     

  2. Go to a test location in your area for an STD test:
    The form tells you where you can get tested and if you need to make an appointment. Bring your printed lab form! Check the opening times of your location and whether an appointment is needed. Once at the test location, you will get several tests. You have to do some of them yourself. Read the instructions you receive carefully. This is how the test is done:

    - You pee in a small cup
    - The employee uses a needle to take one or two blood samples from your arm
    - You do the anal swab test yourself
    - Sometimes, you need to do the throat swab yourself. Other times, the employee of the test location will do this for you
     

  3. View the results online:
    The test location sends everything to the lab. That’s where your samples will be checked for STDs. As soon as the results are ready, you will receive an email. This can take up to 10 days. Go to uitslag.mantotmantestlab.nl and log in with the personal code included on your request form. At this point you can see if you have an STD or not.
     
  4. Do you have an STD?
    Go to the GGD for medication. Is the test result positive? Make an appointment with the GGD to receive treatment and to find out which STD you have. They are usually not allowed to tell you this on the phone.

How can you get the results?

At mantotmantestlab.nl you will get one of the following 3 results:

  • You don’t have STDs or HIV
  • You have an STD or HIV. Make an appointment with the GGD to receive treatment The results do not say which STD you have. You will hear that from the GGD
  • Something went wrong with you test. It’s not clear if you have an STD or HIV. Make an appointment for a new test with the GGD

Security and privacy

You can only access your test results with your login data and personal code. Your GP and health insurance company are not informed about your request or test results. The GGD works with secure systems, so your data is always protected. Read more about your privacy and Testlab.
