HIV testing is always confidential
Testing and treatment is available for everybody
You are young, healthy and enjoying a life with plenty of sex. And why wouldn't you? Still, it wouldn't hurt to keep your health in check. Regular HIV and STI testing is part of a healthy sexual lifestyle. Treatment for HIV is available for everyone, even if you're undocumented.
Why should I test?
If you think you are at low risk to contract HIV, you might be right. Due to availability of PrEP and treatment that makes passing on the HIV-virus impossible, less and less people in the Netherlands get HIV anymore. But it can still happen. And you can't know just by how you look and feel. The sooner treatment starts, the better it is. This is why regular testing is important.
If you like chemsex, you probably know that you're not always in control of everything. Unexpected things can happen. You might forget to take your PrEP, use condoms or talk about sexual health. This is when chances are that you might contract HIV. Do you need information on chemsex or do you need specialised help? Check Chemsex.nl.
Will my identity be safe if I get tested?
You do not need tot identify yourself when you get tested for HIV, nor for treatment. You can even get tested using a nickname. Treatment is available for everybody. This means that even if you are undocumented, there are ways to get treatment for HIV and in some cases you can get PrEP without a residential status. You can get information on how to get treatment at HIV Association and the guys from PrEPnu might be able to help you find a trusted PrEP-provider.
